Welcome to my webpage!
I’m an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM). I got my Ph.D. from Rice University in 2009, after getting my BA from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2000. I am a comparativist with broad interests in the topics of representation, legislative behavior, institutional design and multilevel governance. Most of my research is centered in the Latin American region.
The core of my research agenda is centered on issues of representation. I am particularly interested in the behavioral implications of different career choices and personal characteristics, ranging from political ambition, preferences and party pressures to the pertinence of specific underrepresented groups. Alongside, I am curious about how institutional variation prompts dissimilar activities and calculations in changing environments, especially during transitions. My work has been published in American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Political Science Research and Methods and Legislative Studies Quarterly, among others, and has covered cases like Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, Perú and (currently) Brazil and Colombia.

My teaching portfolio covers topics of comparative politics, representation, institutions and Latin American politics, among others. I was fortunate to face multiple audiences in the U.S., Argentina and Mexico throughout these decades, ranging from undegraduates and Ph.D. students to politicians, civil servants and judges.
Besides regular classes, I am a faculty member in the Diplomas of Political Analysis and Legislative Performance.
